Walking Routes / The Legs

Converging towards Holy Island / Lindisfarne

There are seven Legs (groups), of which the first five below are all full week routes, then there is a family orientated group; and also a long distance unsupported one week wild-camping route. Click the names below for more details, to find which is the one for you...

Northumbrian Leg
Steeped in English Christian history, & the footsteps of Northumbrian Saints, this crosses the dramatic Simonside Hills to reach the coast.
Carlisle Leg
Spiritual walking along parts of historic Hadrian's Wall & through Northumbria's national park
Lanark Leg
Fellowship with Christians of many traditions in the picturesque borders on a challenging and enjoyable route over the Cheviots.
St Cuthbert's Leg
From Melrose to Holy Island through the Scottish borders stunning landscape.
Haddington Leg
Beautiful walking, over shorter daily distances (10 miles approx) than most other Legs, following the coastline south via Berwick.
Family Leg
A different pace, located in one place, for families with children, all ages from babies & toddlers upwards, including older siblings through to young teenagers. All activities are children orientated.
St Ninian's Leg - (previously Iona Leg in 2010)
A longer walk, taking one week to travel from Whithorn in Dumfries, southern Scotland, to Lindisfarne. As with the successful route in 2011 from Iona, this Leg will be unsupported, with bivi-bags / un planned camping.
