| "Come and enjoy a week away with a difference - come join us - a motley bunch of believers - walking on Easter Pilgrimage to Lindisfarne - Holy Island the centre of early Christianity and one of the most beautiful places on earth - join us as we re-trace old pilgrim pathways - walk by the sea side, across ploughed fields, along old railways lines, through woods, sleeping in church halls at night, eating home-made food, saying prayers, snoring soundly til porridge time; meet and be greeted people on the way, hear the birds, watch the first flowers coming out on the hedgerows as spring comes to life. And when we get there on Good Friday, experience walking across the ancient causeway barefoot, weary feet cleansed by mud and salty sea. On Holy Island help transform the crosses we carry all week with flowers for Easter Sunday; visit the beautiful Church, the castle, watch newly born lambs skip and jump, walk round to the bird reserve, run on the beach, collect shells, drink beer, eat crab sandwiches and generally chill out with everyone! Enjoy the Saturday evening service, the procession to the beach and the pascal bonfire. Find Easter as you have never found it before!" |
